About JIN
Message
Japan Innovation Network (JIN) is an accelerator challenging the widely held belief that large companies cannot be innovative and thus make Japan “Innovation Nation” once again. JIN was established in July 2013 primarily by members of the Frontier HR Research Committee* of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to implement the research committee’s proposal to adopt a “two-layered management” system, that pursues both efficiency and creativity. The committee conducted research on the best innovation practices in industries, governments, and academia around the world in order to present Japanese companies with a new direction for management reform. JIN aims to help create100 innovative companies as a first step toward transforming Japan into “Innovation Nation.”*The Frontier HR Research Committee, chaired by Kunitake Ando, Chairman of the University of Nagano and former president of Sony Corporation, engaged in activities focusing on the development of innovative human resources for three years from 2011 to 2013.
